What is your responsibility as Teamlead Partner Development at Personio?

My responsibilities as teamlead include supporting my team of Partner Development Managers with coaching and career development, as well as setting our team strategy and reporting on business. Together with my team, I also ensure the mutual success and close collaboration with our tax advisor partners and DATEV, our payroll integration partner. 

What does a typical day look like for the Partner Development team?

We work very closely with the Partner Network Team which is actively growing our network of official tax advisor partners every day. The Partner Network Managers qualify these tax advisor firms and pitch them the benefits of our partner program. As soon as our colleagues win a new partner, the job of the Partner Development Managers starts.

A typical day for us begins with a team stand-up in the morning to align on new partners, specific operative projects and tasks. Our daily work includes the technical onboarding, training and certification of new partners. We regularly check in with each partner to monitor the progress of ongoing customer projects and plan new lead generation and marketing initiatives. Together we define, pilot and execute new Partner Management strategies to digitize the HR and payroll processes of our partners’ clients. In addition, we work closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product and the DATEV project teams to improve our go-to-market strategy and processes.

What kind of growth has your team experienced and what is your vision for the future? 

With the integration of DATEV and Personio, HR managers are able to send the necessary monthly payroll data to their DATEV payroll system with just a few clicks. Typically a tax advisor then processes the payroll in DATEV. It became clear that together, we had an excellent opportunity to digitize the HR and payroll processes for our customers. Which is why my team was created – to help manage these important relationships. Since September 2020 we have grown to a team of 10 Partner Managers, which includes both Partner Development and Partner Network Managers. My team, the Partner Development Team, and the Partner Network Team form the Payroll Partnerships Team. We also have plans to nearly double the team by the end of 2021, so we’re on the lookout for motivated people!

What future projects at Personio are you most excited to be a part of?

Seeing Personio evolving from a start-up to one of the most exciting and impactful software companies in Europe has been very exciting so far. My team also has an active part in the digital transformation of HR and payroll processes, and we continue to strengthen our many important partnerships. And as Personio continues to grow I’m super excited to meet my future colleagues and shape our culture together! 

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I love sitting down with my team and developing new ideas together. Everyone is really ambitious and we challenge each other and our ideas to ensure we come up with the best solution (or at least solutions that we think are great 😃  ).

What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here? 

During my Interview process 2.5 years ago, I asked our CEO, Hanno, why he founded Personio in the first place. He told me that he wants to successfully enable better organisations by digitizing HR processes for all SME companies in Europe, all while building a company where he himself would be happy to work. In our three-year strategy, one of the five strategic pillars is to “Attract, develop and retain top talent.” I remembered my conversation with Hanno and was reminded again that it was the right choice to join Personio.
