This role requires 3 days per week in the office and is based in Munich.

As an Expansion Business Development Representative, you will play a pivotal role in driving Personio’s growth within our existing customer base. Your mission in this recently founded team is to proactively and strategically engage with current customers to identify cross-sell opportunities for our Payroll solutions, contributing to increased customer value and Personio’s long-term success as an all-in-one HRM platform.
In close alignment with internal stakeholders like Account Managers and Payroll Sales Managers, you will develop and deliver tailored messaging that resonates with key decision makers across different regions and sectors in Germany’s renowned Mittelstand.
The work you’ll do:
Take on the role of a trusted advisor for your portfolio of existing German Mittelstand customers to identify their challenges and new needs related to Payroll solutions.
Educate customers on the value and benefits of Personio’s Payroll solution through tailored, relevant messaging and provide initial ideas for optimizing their HR processes. Your communication will mainly be outbound driven, meaning:
Prospect into Personio’s existing customer base via call, email and social selling strategies, to achieve a monthly quota of qualified opportunities and pipeline value.
Handle typical outbound sales objections and ensure that opportunities progress.
Qualify potential value drivers and solution fit by engaging with key decision makers to discover pains and company goals.
Develop your book of business, generate sales pipeline and develop opportunities for a team of Payroll Sales Managers in close collaboration with Account Managers.
Be a subject matter expert on state-of-the-art HR technology with a special focus on Personio’s Payroll offering.
What we're looking for
Strong communication & problem-solving skills – comfortable reaching out proactively, handling objections and driving value-driven customer conversations .
Goal-oriented, highly-driven and resilient - you thrive in a fast-paced sales environment which changes on a frequent basis.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) is not a must but a bonus.
Languages required: fluency in German & English.
Strong business acumen is a plus - being able to speak the language of executives.
Outbound sales experience in B2B SaaS, tech or cloud solution sales is a plus.
Salesforce and/or GONG experience is a plus.
