We are looking for a Senior Lead Account Executives (Payroll) to lead a team of Account Executives focused on cross-selling Personio Payroll to our existing customer base.
In this role, you'll build and develop a high-performing team that drives payroll adoption for mid-market companies, helping organizations move away from fragmented processes and into smarter, more scalable solutions. Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
Leadership: You lead, develop and recruit a high-performing team of 6-7 senior account executives who deal with complex software purchasing processes in companies with approx. 500-2,000 employees
Coaching: You have a strong focus on coaching Account Executives in your team and defining new standards for the growth of the team by developing great talent and invest in continuous skill development
Target Achievement: Together with your team, you continuously achieve set goals on a monthly and quarterly basis, including a quarterly accelerator if the goals are exceeded
Data: You analyze processes data-driven to optimize conversion rates, time-to-sell, ARPA and other KPIs
Cross Functional Strategy & Execution: Together with sales management, sales engineering, sales development and the marketing team, you develop & execute go-to-market strategies for our customer segment and implement them successfully
Best Practice: Exchange best practices with fellow sales leaders and align frequently with central core
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
6+ years of professional experience as an Account Executive in B2B new business / new customer acquisition, plus 3+ years of people leadership experience, including hiring and building a team from scratch and onboarding/ramping new hires.
Proven track record in B2B software sales (SaaS, cloud, or technology), ideally within complex, consultative sales cycles.
Strong forecasting discipline with a consistent history of meeting or exceeding quota and delivering results on time and predictably.
Deep understanding of modern software sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sale, Gap Selling) and confidence working in a multi-tool sales tech stack (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, Gong, Groove).
Strong commercial and business acumen: you understand how organizations evaluate and purchase software, including stakeholder mapping/management, navigating procurement processes, and positioning solutions within an existing IT landscape.
Excellent communication skills (clear, confident, and transparent) with full professional fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
Thorough command of sales metrics and KPIs, paired with the ability to build and operationalize a repeatable, predictable sales playbook for your team

At Personio, we value in-person collaboration while also offering flexibility. This role is office-based, with 3 days per week required in your contracted office location. The remaining days can be worked from home or in the office if you prefer. In addition, you’ll have 20 Flex Days per year to work remotely from other locations.
