About the role
As the Team Lead for Integration Services, you will redefine how Personio packages, sells, and delivers Integration Projects and services. The role is pivotal at the heart of our customer journey to help customers adopt Personio as the HRIS hub of their ecosystem. Reporting to the Senior Director of Professional Services, you will operate as a player-coach: managing a team of integration specialists across Europe, advising key customer engagements, and aligning your portfolio with Personio’s strategy. Successful outcomes include fulfilling increasing customer demand for Integrations, innovating service delivery with AI and developing A+ talent.
Candidate profile
8+ years in integration engineering/technical consulting/professional services within SaaS; 2+ years mentoring or leading consultants/engineers
Strong hands-on integration background: APIs/REST, ETL/data mapping, webhooks vs polling, auth (OAuth2/SAML/SCIM), reliability (retries, idempotency, rate limits), AWS/cloud awareness
Commercially minded: experience creating packaged services, pricing tiers, SoWs; accountable for utilization, services revenue, and advisory project opportunity conversion
Confident customer-facing leader: pre-sales ride-alongs, scoping workshops, exec updates; credible stakeholder management across Sales/CS, Product Partnerships, and Security
Builder of repeatable standards: templates, runbooks, QA/observability practices; able to unblock complex delivery while coaching the team
Strong people manager: driver of performance culture, high commitment to team development and has ability to inspire
Nice to have: HR/Payroll/Identity experience; German language a plus
Key responsibilities
Services portfolio and packaging
Own the Integration Services portfolio. Define scoped packages, deliverables, and pricing tiers by complexity
Create clear, sales-ready collateral (battlecards, FAQs, scope boundaries) to make offerings easy to position and sell
Establish guardrails for in-house vs. partner integrations execution based on complexity, risk, and ownership model
Commercial execution and conversion
Partner with Sales/CS to increase attach and convert assessments/discovery into paid engagements; own visibility on utilization, services revenue, and opportunity conversion
Participate as a player-coach in pre-sales: frame solution options, set expectations, and structure SoWs for predictable outcomes
Reduce discounting by standardizing packages and leveraging reusable blueprints for recurring patterns
Delivery excellence and operational standards
Set standards for quality, security, and observability across Advisory/Build-With engagements: runbooks, error handling, logging/metrics, change control, and documentation
Coach the team on scoping accuracy, risk management, and stakeholder communication; ensure crisp handovers and governance
Drive a quarterly metrics cadence for utilization, throughput, CSAT/quality, and issue resolution; iterate methods and templates continuously
Delivery models: define and execute advisory vs. Build & Host strategy
Advisory/Build-With: scope, consult, and co-develop integrations that are operated by the customer or partners
Build & Host (managed) opportunities: identify where Personio can own code/infra/support, define decision criteria, SLAs, and pricing, and pilot with tight controls
Document and enable the build-vs-partner framework so Sales/CS can confidently position each model
Partnerships and ecosystem collaboration
Work with Product Partnerships to evaluate partner-led delivery across segments; align on co-selling, certification, and delivery playbooks
Feed structured insights to Product/Partnerships on high-demand integrations and friction points to influence roadmaps and marketplace strategy
Measures of success
Commercial outcomes: growth in services revenue and attach; increased conversion from discovery/assessments to paid engagements
Utilization and delivery: higher team billable utilization; predictable project delivery with strong CSAT and reduced rework
Portfolio clarity: packaged Integration Projects and ETL offers with clear scope/pricing adopted by Sales/CS
Strategic impact: Personio positioned as the HRIS hub in key accounts; validated criteria and initial pilots for Build & Host where beneficial
Team health: high engagement and progression; consistent standards across regions and engagements
