Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • Automation & Process Optimization: You design, build, and implement automation solutions to streamline payroll operations, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy across payroll workflows

  • Process Governance: You establish and maintain clear process documentation, governance frameworks, and quality standards to ensure consistency and compliance across all payroll operations

  • Enablement & Knowledge Scaling: You create comprehensive training materials, documentation, and enablement resources to empower the payroll team and ensure knowledge is accessible and scalable as we grow

  • SME Support & Consultation: You act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders on payroll processes, tools, and automation capabilities

  • Product Feedback Loops: You collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to gather payroll operations insights, identify pain points, and influence the product roadmap based on internal user needs

  • Tooling & System Integration: You evaluate, implement, and optimize payroll tools and integrations, ensuring seamless data flows and system connectivity across platforms

  • Continuous Improvement: You proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, pilot new solutions, and measure the impact of automation initiatives on team efficiency and scalability

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • Experience & Language: You have 5+ years of experience in process automation or automation roles, ideally in a fast-paced tech or SaaS environment. You are fluent in German and English

  • Technical & Automation Skills: You have hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, Python, or RPA platforms) and are comfortable building workflows, integrations, and process automations without always relying on engineering support

  • AI & Intelligent Automation: You have experience working with AI technologies and understand how to leverage AI-driven solutions to enhance automation capabilities and drive process efficiency

  • HR Automation & Tool Building: You have hands-on experience building automation solutions in the HR domain, creating custom tools and workflows that streamline HR processes and improve operational efficiency

  • Stakeholder Management: You collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Operations, ensuring alignment and driving projects forward in a matrixed environment

  • Data-Driven Mindset: You use data and metrics to identify inefficiencies, measure the impact of automation initiatives, and make informed decisions that drive continuous improvement

  • Problem-Solving & Ownership: You proactively identify problems, take ownership of solutions from concept to implementation, and thrive in ambiguous situations where you need to figure things out independently
