Personio Payroll receives ITSG certification and meets the highest compliance standards in payroll processing

Munich, April 10, 2024 — Personio, Europe's leading HR software provider for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), today announced the successful certification of its payroll solution "Personio Payroll" by the Information Technology Service Center of the Statutory Health Insurance (ITSG).

The ITSG certification is considered the highest quality award for software solutions in Germany in the field of payroll processing. This means that Personio Payroll meets the comprehensive legal requirements demanded by German health insurance funds and social security for reporting and contribution management. The certification enables businesses to communicate automatically and directly through Personio Payroll with social insurance providers and ensures payroll is processed accurately each time.

Germany ranks second globally when it comes to the complexity of payroll processing. Ongoing changes in payroll regulations lead to extremely high efforts for those responsible. According to a recent Personio survey of 500 HR managers with payroll responsibilities, 59% reported spending several days each month on payroll processing. The primary challenge identified to ensure effective payroll processing is compliance with and correct implementation of ever-changing legal adjustments, cited by 39% of respondents. In second place (34%) is the high level of effort required due to manual work.

New paths for increased productivity: Customers save up to 85% of time

Personio Payroll enables SMEs in Germany to perform payroll processing instantly, accurately, and effortlessly while meeting all legal requirements. Since the launch of Personio Payroll last year, more than 300 customers, including organizations such as Cambridge Institut, CarVia, Proliance and Degura, have been able to make their payroll processes more efficient, thanks to the central database for personnel and salary data, automatic data validation, and built-in compliance.
