Join our Finance, Legal & Strategy (FLS) team and help shape Personio’s operational foundation by applying your subject-matter expertise to complex challenges that span functions, systems, and regions.

We are seeking a Lead, Deal Desk (d/f/m) to join our growing team. This is a highly visible, cross-functional leadership role that sits at the intersection of Sales, Legal, Finance, Billing Ops, and RevOps. You will play a critical part in structuring strategic commercial deals, enabling scalable processes, and guiding decision-making across the end-to-end contract lifecycle. As a Lead, Deal Desk you will not only own high-impact initiatives and escalations but will also drive continuous improvement in how we sell, structure, and scale - balancing commercial agility with operational discipline.

Role Responsibilities: “What You’ll Do”

  • Lead and manage a team of Deal Desk professionals (2), setting goals, providing mentorship, and enabling development through feedback and coaching.

  • Act as a strategic business advisor to Sales and key stakeholders, owning the deal lifecycle for complex, high-value, or non-standard opportunities.

  • Serve as a contracting and commercial architecture expert, advising on deal structures that align with internal policies (revenue recognition, compliance, operational readiness) while supporting business objectives.

  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, and GTM teams to support strategic initiatives and pilots, including new monetization strategies, market entry efforts, and product launches.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve company-wide processes and influence how Personio approaches packaging, pricing, and contracting at scale.

  • Conduct discovery and root cause analysis on operational bottlenecks or breakdowns, and develop actionable recommendations to address them.

  • Champion operational simplicity by identifying unnecessary complexity and building scalable workflows in partnership with FLS leadership and cross-functional peers.

Role Requirements: “What You Need to Succeed”

  • 7+ years experience in Deal Desk, Sales Strategy, Finance, or similar operational roles, preferably in high-growth B2B SaaS environments.

  • Proven experience managing a Deal Desk team, with a demonstrated passion for people development, operational excellence, and building high-performing, cross-functional partnerships.

  • Proven track record in leading complex deal cycles, structuring high-impact commercial agreements, and influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting strategic GTM initiatives and pilots, and the ability to provide operational insight that helps shape commercial and product strategy.

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce, CPQ, Excel/Google Sheets, and related quoting or pricing tools, with the ability to independently build analyses and translate insights into action.

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end contracting process, and how commercial, legal, and operational requirements interconnect.

  • Clear and structured problem-solver with a bias toward practical solutions, balancing speed and accuracy under pressure.

  • Familiarity with SaaS metrics, revenue recognition principles, and quote-to-cash operations.

  • Passion for improving how work gets done—whether through systems, processes, or training—and a collaborative mindset that lifts others up.
