Senior Systems Product Manager (P2P) (d/f/m)
Personio's intelligent HR platform helps small and medium-sized organizations unlock the power of people by making complicated, time-consuming tasks simple and efficient. Our team of 1,500 Personios is building user-friendly products that delight our 15,000+ customers and their 1.5 million employees. Ready to make an impact from day one?
This role requires 2 days per week in the office and is based in Madrid.
We empower Personio's decision-making with advanced analytics and strategic insights, while boosting productivity through systems improvement and automation. Be part of our transformative journey in HR technology, where your contributions will shape our data-driven future.
You’ll join our Finance Systems team as the product owner for Procure-to-Pay (P2P) – one of the business’s most critical and, today, most pain-heavy processes. You’ll lead the end-to-end reimagining of how Personio buys and pays: diagnosing what’s broken today, driving the evaluation and migration to a new platform such as Workday, and building the automation that lets the business keep growing without the process breaking.
Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
Own the P2P roadmap. You define and drive the end-to-end strategy for Procure-to-Pay – from requisitioning through invoicing and payments – aligned with Finance and Procurement leadership.
Diagnose what’s broken. You assess the current P2P process and systems landscape, identify root causes behind today’s biggest pain points, and prioritize fixes with measurable business impact.
Lead the platform migration. You evaluate and lead the migration of P2P onto a new platform – starting with Workday – including a build-vs-buy assessment of alternatives if Workday isn’t the right fit.
Drive automation at scale. You partner with engineering to identify and implement automation across the P2P workflow, reducing manual effort and cycle times.
Apply AI pragmatically. You bring working knowledge of relevant AI tools to spot where they can meaningfully improve P2P processes – e.g. invoice matching, anomaly detection, documentation – and help the team adopt them where they add real value.
Partner across the business. You act as the trusted bridge between Finance, Procurement, and technical teams, translating business needs into system requirements and systems capabilities into business outcomes.
Lead change management. You drive stakeholder alignment through the transformation, ensuring adoption of new processes and tools.
Own your impact. You define and track KPIs for the P2P domain – e.g. cycle time, error rates, automation rate – and use them to guide prioritization.
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
Experience: 5+ years in Systems/Technical/Business Product Management, Finance Systems, or ERP implementation, with hands-on ownership of Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, or broader finance systems.
Platform migration track record: you’ve led a system migration or major process re-engineering end-to-end – not just administered an existing tool.
ERP/finance systems knowledge: working knowledge of ERP or finance systems (e.g. Workday, Coupa, SAP Ariba, NetSuite, Oracle) and how they integrate with upstream/downstream processes.
AI tool awareness: you stay current on AI tools relevant to finance systems and automation, with a clear point of view on where they genuinely improve a process versus where they don’t.
Stakeholder management: a track record of partnering with senior Finance/Procurement stakeholders, challenging constructively, and driving alignment on priorities and trade-offs.
Process and systems thinking: ability to diagnose ambiguous, cross-functional problems, propose a target operating model, and sequence a pragmatic path to get there.
Change management: experience leading organizational change through a platform or process transformation.
Communication: ability to translate complex systems/process concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
