Team Lead - Account Executives UKI (d/f/m)
Personio's intelligent HR platform helps small and medium-sized organizations unlock the power of people by making complicated, time-consuming tasks simple and efficient. Our team of 1,500 Personios is building user-friendly products that delight our 15,000+ customers and their 1.5 million employees. Ready to make an impact from day one?
This role requires 3 days per week in the office and is based in Dublin.
Bring your drive. Make a difference. Join our Sales leadership team at Personio, at a point where the UK & Ireland new-business engine has outgrown a single owner trying to do everything. Our new-business team has grown well over 100% year-on-year, and the honest reason we're hiring this role is focus: we need a leader whose entire job is maximising new-business revenue growth, as we haven’t even scratched the surface on the market opportunity ahead of us.
As Account Executive Team Lead, New Business, you will own a team of up to 8 Account Executives across our SMB/Medium Business and Mid-Market segments, and you will be judged on one thing above all: how much new-business ARR your team closes, and how sustainably you build the people and pipeline discipline to keep closing more of it. You will carry direct ownership of your AEs' hiring, coaching, forecasting and performance, and a real seat at the table shaping how BDR and Marketing fuel your pipeline.
If you're excited by the prospect of joining a company with vast untapped market potential, a career at Personio could perfectly align with your ambitions. You'll use your deep understanding of customer needs to drive the growth of a transformative product in an HR technology industry set to soar, offering a lifeline to millions of organizations still stuck in Excel chaos.
Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
Lead the new-business number: own pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy, and quota attainment for your AE team, with full accountability for hitting the UK&I new-business target.
Build and coach the team: hire, ramp, and coach up to 8 AEs across SMB/Medium Business and Mid-Market; run a deliberate "bench" of internal and external talent so you're never caught short when someone leaves or is promoted.
Run the deal clinic: own pipeline hygiene through MEDDICC/MEDDPICC, and run weekly, granular deal reviews that pressure-test multi-threading, surface single points of failure, and produce a real close plan — not a status update.
Coach in the trenches: spend significant time actively coaching: joining high-stakes calls, helping AEs map complex buying committees, and multi-threading at the leadership level yourself on the biggest deals.
Make AI part of the operating model: champion AI-augmented pipeline generation and qualification as a genuine productivity lever for your AEs and their BDR partners, not a side experiment.
Drive a joined-up pipeline culture: partner closely with the SDR Lead, Marketing and Partnerships Leads so outbound, inbound and self-sourced pipeline all pull in the same direction against a shared goal.
Plan the machinery: own headcount and quota planning, QBRs, and CAC payback for your patch, and manage the team's performance rigorously, including PIPs where necessary.
Develop and retain talent: take junior AEs and coach them into high-performing, enterprise-ready closers, building a culture of high performance paired with real psychological safety — Dublin's sales talent market is competitive, and burnout is how you lose good people to it.
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
Management experience: at least 3 years leading a full, quota-carrying new-business AE team, specifically in SaaS and specifically in the UK & Ireland market — general SaaS leadership experience elsewhere isn't treated as an automatic substitute.
"Player-Coach" pedigree: before moving into management, you were yourself an elite, quota-carrying Mid-Market or Enterprise AE inside a genuine MEDDICC culture, followed by 2–4 years managing an AE team.
A reputation as a deal inspector: known for running rigorous, sometimes uncomfortable deal reviews that actually change how a deal is worked — not rubber-stamp forecast calls.
Forecasting rigor: comfortable building and defending a pipeline-coverage model by channel, and has been held to a number as a manager, not only as a rep.
Genuine people leadership: a proven track record of taking junior AEs (1–2 years in seat) and coaching them into enterprise-ready closers — this is a talent-management job as much as a sales-leadership one.
Influence without authority: experience driving outcomes through partners you don't formally manage — SDR/BDR, Marketing, RevOps — since this role's cross-functional relationships are dotted-line, not direct.
AI-first instinct: specific, real examples of using AI to raise pipeline-generation or qualification productivity, not just an interest in the idea.
Market fluency: strong understanding of the UK & Ireland business culture and buyer landscape (HR, Finance, People leaders).
Bonus: Command of the Message or other Force Management sales-methodology training, ideally reinforced with your own team rather than just completed as an individual contributor.
