Our Customer Experience team thrives on collaboration, working closely with teams across Personio to ensure that customer voices are at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to understanding and advocating for our customers, using data-driven insights to shape our customer experience strategies and influence what we build.

At Personio, integrations are the backbone of how our customers automate, scale, and unlock value from their HR data. As a Customer API Integration Specialist (d/m/f), you'll design and deliver the technical connections that make Personio the central system of record for 15,000+ customers. You'll sit at the intersection of technology, consulting, and innovation, helping customers realize value faster while evolving our integration frameworks and tools in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.

This position is office-based (hybrid) in either Munich, Berlin or Dublin

Role Responsibilities: “What You’ll Do”

  • Integration Delivery: You partner with customers and internal teams to scope, design, and deliver seamless integrations between Personio and external systems (HRIS, payroll, identity, and productivity tools).

  • Technical Implementation: You build and troubleshoot API and SSO configurations, leveraging REST, GraphQL, SOAP, and webhook frameworks, while using automation platforms and AI-powered tools to accelerate implementation.

  • Customer Advisory: You act as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex requirements into simple, actionable solutions that deliver measurable customer outcomes and improved time-to-value.

  • Knowledge Building: You contribute to documentation, tooling, and knowledge-sharing that elevate the technical maturity of the Integration Services team.

  • Scalable Solutions (Senior): You develop and maintain reusable integration templates, SDKs, and connectors that accelerate delivery and improve consistency across the customer base.

  • Product Influence (Senior): You collaborate with Product and Engineering to identify integration trends, influence roadmap priorities, and improve platform capabilities.

  • Technical Leadership (Senior): You mentor colleagues on programming best practices and partner with the Integration Services Lead on technical decisions and standards.

     

Role Requirements: “What You’ll Bring”

  • Working Experience: You have 2-4 years (Professional) or 4+ years (Senior) of relevant experience in customer-facing roles in integration consulting or integration engineering.

  • Technical Foundation: You have a strong understanding of API ecosystems (REST, GraphQL, webhooks), data structures (JSON, XML), and working knowledge of at least one server-side programming language (Python, Java, Node.js, Go, etc.).

  • Communication Excellence: You have exceptional communication skills in English and German (business fluent or higher), able to simplify technical detail for business audiences and build trust across teams and customers.

  • Growth Mindset: You're resilient, adaptable, and motivated to continuously improve how we deliver value, with a passion for learning and applying new technologies.

  • Cloud & Architecture (Senior): You bring a basic conceptual understanding of DevOps concepts to support integration scalability and operational excellence.

  • Integration Tools (Nice-to-have): You have familiarity with iPaaS and automation platforms (Workato, Zapier, Make, etc.), cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), or identity management standards (SSO, SAML, SCIM, OAuth).

  • AI & Automation Curiosity (Nice-to-have): You're curious about AI and automation, from using AI tools for data mapping and testing to identifying new ways to accelerate customer onboarding.
