The Role: How you'll make an impact at Personio
This role requires 3 days per week in the office and is based in Berlin or Munich.
As a Collaboration Systems Engineer in our People, Workplace and IT department, you'll own and continuously improve the tools that keep Personio moving - with Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Confluence, JSM Assets) as your core platform, and broader responsibility for how our collaboration stack fits together. We're looking for someone comfortable with complex, large-scale configurations who can also see across the tooling landscape, leverage AI automation where it adds real value, and work closely with Engineering, IT, and People teams to deliver high-impact workflows and self-service capabilities used across the company.
Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
Own the Atlassian Cloud platform across Jira, Confluence, and JSM Assets - keeping environments performant, well-configured, and built around how teams actually work.
Manage and improve our broader collaboration tooling stack (e.g. Slack, Google Workspace, or similar), ensuring tools are well-integrated and adopted effectively across the business.Collaborate across all Personio departments to navigate trade-offs, influence without formal authority, and deliver practical solutions quickly.
Build and maintain API integrations between Atlassian Cloud and internal/external systems using REST APIs and modern authentication.
Create and support AI-assisted automations, including Rovo Agents, that reduce manual work and improve how teams access information and get things done.
Own and optimize Jira Service Management Assets (CMDB): schemas, automation, data sync, and integrations with external sources.
Implement workflows and automation (rules, webhooks, event-driven operations) using Forge and Atlassian APIs.
Evaluate and onboard new collaboration tooling as business needs evolve, driving governance, adoption, and integration with existing systems.
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
2–4+ years of experience administering and extending Atlassian Cloud environments.
Experience with other collaboration and workplace platforms (e.g. Slack, Google Workspace, or similar) - including administration, workflow automation, and integration with other systems.
Expertise in Atlassian Forge, JavaScript/TypeScript, and cloud app development.
Solid understanding of Jira Service Management Assets (CMDB), including schema design, automation, and data flows.
Deep knowledge of Atlassian Cloud REST APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns.
Experience in creating and supporting AI-assisted automation experiences, including Rovo AI Agents.
Experience creating advanced automation using Jira Automation, Forge triggers, and/or scripting.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to translate business needs into scalable tooling solutions.
