Senior Frontend Engineer (d/f/m)
Product & Tech | Full Time | Berlin or Munich
The Role
This role requires 2 days per week in the office and is based in Berlin or Munich.
Join our Product & Tech team, where we drive customer outcomes by designing, developing and delivering innovative, high quality products. As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Money team, you will help shape how customers manage compensation, salary and bonuses within Personio, building the interfaces that sit at the centre of PayConnect's compensation experience.
What You'll Do
Build Customer Facing Features: Design and ship frontend features for the compensation experience, covering salary, bonus and comp management flows used by HR teams and employees.
Ensure Quality and Reliability: Apply strong testing practices and attention to detail in a domain where accuracy in pay related data matters directly to customers.
Collaborate Cross Functionally: Work closely with backend engineers, product managers and designers to deliver end to end solutions for the compensation product.
Contribute to Frontend Architecture: Help evolve frontend patterns and shared components within the Money team, keeping the codebase consistent and maintainable as it grows.
Solve Technical Problems: Investigate and resolve complex frontend issues, including performance and data heavy UI challenges typical of compensation tooling.
Support Team Standards: Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with peers, helping raise the quality bar across the team.
Stay Close to the Product: Bring a customer focused mindset to your work, understanding how compensation features are used and where the experience can improve.
What You Need to Succeed
Frontend Expertise: Strong experience with React and TypeScript, and a track record of shipping production frontend features in a complex product.
Quality Mindset: Comfortable with testing strategies across the testing pyramid and thinking about edge cases in data sensitive flows.
Problem Solving: Able to work through ambiguous or complex technical challenges independently, with sound judgement on when to ask for input.
Collaboration: Strong written and spoken communication skills, and experience working closely with backend, product and design counterparts.
Ownership: Comfortable owning a feature or problem area end to end, from technical approach through to delivery.
Domain Interest (nice to have): Interest or prior experience in payroll, compensation, fintech or other data sensitive, regulated domains.
